Deciding to seek psychiatric care is a big step, and it's normal to have questions about what actually happens once you walk through the door. Our psychiatric department is built to make that process feel clear, supportive, and centered on you — not just a diagnosis or a prescription pad.
Our psychiatric team evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and more. Care can include:
A first psychiatric evaluation typically takes longer than a follow-up visit. Expect to talk through your mental health history, any symptoms you've been experiencing, current medications, and what you're hoping to get out of treatment. This isn't a one-size-fits-all checklist — it's a conversation meant to shape a plan specific to you.
While medication is often part of psychiatric treatment, it's rarely the whole plan. Our psychiatric providers regularly coordinate with our therapy, PSR, and TMS teams, so that if medication alone isn't giving you the results you want, there are other options already built into your care — not a separate process you have to start from scratch.
Follow-up visits are where a lot of the real progress happens — adjusting dosages, discussing side effects honestly, and revisiting whether the current approach still fits your life. Your provider is there to work through that with you, not just renew a prescription and move on.
Reaching out for psychiatric care can feel intimidating, especially if it's your first time. Our team's goal is to make that first step as approachable as possible — no judgment, just support.
